So, i wondered; How can i make the world a better place?:
Well, I could try to explain to people How awesome Dwarf fortress is!

I am also asking for ideas from you guys (I'll add them)

Have you ever tried showing dwarf fortress to a friend/ family, without any succes at convincing them of its awesomeness?

Theese are some Ideas to counter their remarks:

Maybe they said "uuh, its just letters", you could maybe reply with something like this: "Yeah, letters are stupid, who need letters anyway?"- that was obviously sarcastic. Maybe Even better (although ASCII is king); point them towards a texture pack.

"Its just a game", my experience here is: they'll never be able to understand...

"Looks boring", this one is tricky, but just start talking about your awesome experiences, ideas, possibilities, upcoming updates(only the really exiting stuff, they might not understand how cool it is to send dwarfes out on expiditions) and so on.

What do you do if they can see how awesome a game it is, but they express that they have no idea how they'd even begin to play, especially if they lack the time to devote to trying it?

Just remind them of How awesome it is, and if they really believe you, they'll give it a go, in the end its up to them.

What are your ideas to add here? (I'll add)

Just try to keep telling them to just do it, 30 minutes every now and then is after all so much more than nothing
