Damn that's an ironic user name in this context.

This is why I use an Apple computer.

Down with Windows.
Down with Apple too.
Though I certainly don't hate them as much as I hate Micro$oft.

If you really want security, Linux may be your best bet.
Here are sme things to help you get started:
https://www.ubuntu.com/desktop (I personally prefer Debian)
https://www.winehq.org/ (For running .exe files on Linux)
Or, if you want to try Debian instead (I actually found a getting started for it, a search didnt give me much about Ubuntu)
https://www.debian.org/
https://www.debian.org/releases/stable/amd64/
The command line can be useful to understand as well.

Ok, I recorded things on my phone with a "voice recorder app." I think it's from Sony.

It isn't music; it's people talking. So ... no DRM or whatever.

I can play the audio files just fine on my Phone.

The issue is, when I open the folder I copied the files to on the desktop of my brand new windows 10 computer, the folder immediately shuts. Every time. Sometimes the screen goes dark for a minute?

Does anyone know what on earth this is?

I have absolutely no idea but I would be willing to hazard that it's not DRM.
