Just interested to know if anybody knows any references or bases to these "exotic" creatures:

-foul blendec
-grimeling
-strangler

clues could be found in their definition in raw/objects/creature_standard.txt.  If there are no references, what could they possibly look like in more details?

I've read on the forums that Foul Blendecs are evil Satyrs.

Yep. Foul Blendecs are corrupted Satyrs with bleeding eyesockets and goat heads. Grimelings, as far as I can tell from the raws, are slimy, weedy, vaguely humanoid sludge creatures. Stranglers are some sort of tree dwelling creature with four arms, three eyes and a large, toothy maw.

It seems to me that most of these creatures come from Threetoe's stories.

ah yes.. found the one for foul blendec... still looking for others.  Think we need more efforts towards updating the creature info for wiki.  I'll draft out a page for foul blendec with a reference link back to TT's story.

Grimelings aren't that weedy. I lost a lot of dwarves to their murderous predations back in the .23a days, when they used to appear regularly on evil maps.
