More crime related things!

Okay, this may be a bit odd.

I would like to see more crimes.

Such crimes include:

Stealing (By particularly corrupt dwarves), treason, etc. (I'll let the rest of the forums help brainstorm ideas.)

Also, I noticed that there are crime groups that appear in human towns.

I could see some criminal dwarves (who didn't get their skulls beaten in by the hammerer) forming a group and using a mostly unused room in the fort as their headquarters.

While I like the idea, I fear it's a very far distant feature. But as for ideas...

Setting up an HQ: Likely weighted by traffic, particularly by militia members and Fortress Guards. The Bookkeeper may notice things go missing from stockpiles, which can be found by investigating the fortress and looking for odd jumbles of items in old rooms or mines.

Treason: If under siege, a dwarf who has relatives amongst the attackers or particularly power-hungry may go to open the gates needed to let in the attacking force. Dwarves who witness this act will accuse them of treason to the Mayor or highest ranking proper noble, rather than the Fortress Guard.

Theft: Envious dwarves might steal things from people they have grudges against, excessively greedy (even by dwarf standards) may steal things from the stockpile, in both cases stashing the items in thier rooms or under the bed of whatever dorm bed they use. Gangs that organize will take the items to thier HQ.

Gang Uprising: If a criminal organization outnumbers a militia by say, 50%, they may try to start a rebellion to take over the site. Survivors will be jailed for extremely long periods (decades long,) assuming the militia crushes them, while the gang leader if he survives, is sentenced to death for treason.

Witchcraft and/or being a night creature, the latter already sort of exists for vampires from the murdering, but it's always struck me as rather odd about how blase dwarfs are about one of their number randomly raising the dead or changing into a monster every month- especially since it can cause a loyalty cascade if you send the military after them. So maybe those could get recorded as crimes so they at least do something. It'd be particularly neat if known compliant Weres were escorted to a jail cell each month before their transformation and let out after the curse has passed, while noncompliant/secretive Weres went to the hammerer.
