Can you milk tame purring maggots?
« on: April 22, 2007, 11:16:00 pm »

What the subject says. I'm trying to get milk production going, and I'd like to use tame purring maggots in the hope that my dwarves won't eat them raw, but they don't seem to be milkable. Is there something I'm missing?

On the same subject, how long does a creature have to sit around between milkings, anyway?

You can milk a creature once every season.
and, as far as I know, you can milk a tamed purring maggot. Maybe you need to put them in a cage first ?

Right now I've got two tame purring maggots and two or three untamed ones in a cage. I milked the untamed ones just fine, but the tame ones remain stubbornly unmilkable. Maybe they get their already-milked-this-season flag tripped when they're tamed?

Okay, that's not it. I just can't milk tame purring maggots at all. Anyone have any clue what might cause this behavior?

Because they're tame ?
