There is No Game [SG]

Stop. There is no game here.

This is not a trick. This is not reverse psychology. There is no game here. No grandoise schemes, no dastardly villains, no tortured romances.

And to be quite frank I don't quite understand why you would be interested in this thing-that-is-not-a-game. We are in the Forum Games and Roleplaying section, and yet here we have no game.

But if you must know more, there is a person. This person is not related to a game in any way, shape, or form. I am sure that if you were to ask them, they would vehemently agree that they are not part of a game.

There is also a plot. The plot, like the person, is utterly un-gamelike. The plot is, however, very closely related to the person, and the person is likewise very important to the plot. It is just that they don't have anything to do with a game of any sort.

There. Is. No. Game.

But who is ths person, so completely unrelated to a game? Were you to ask me, I would tell you this:

Work on a potential forum game for my return to Bay12. Figure out parts that puzzled me before. Find more things to figure out that I can't. Work on another game instead of solving them. Get distracted and stop working. Remember it a week or two later. Remember I'm still on hiatus. Illogically, Be too ashamed to return yet. Repeat ad nauseam.

Finally have a game completely ready. Wait a week before posting it out of laziness.

There is Geryll Mind, a construction worker who wants nothing more than to go into retirement.

Geryll is complicated. In games, a person will almost always end up being a simple caricature. Geryll is not in a game, and I'm sureyou can figure out that means that he is more than a caricature, though the words character and caricature sound very similar.

When he was young, Geryll wanted to be a screenwriter. He wanted to write a comedy TV show about a man who solves puzzles and play games. Geryll was never good at writing comedy though, so he went into the construction business.

If there are two things Geryll truly loves, they are Games and Lasanga. I would go so far as to say he wants to make life itself a game, but don't be fooled.

There is no game.

It's just that Geryll thinks that there is one.

This, of course, is only a brief overview of Geryll. To truly know and understand a person is the study of a lifetime. We do not have a lifetime to study Geyrll.

I do not envy Geryll's life though. This is why:
