You awaken from your cryogenic sleep and find yourself upon a tiny pod. Your memory is a bit fuzzy at first, but it comes back to you slowly. You were aboard the space station Galaxia, a massive space station in the depths of space. You remember explosions, and alarms going off all around you. You remember getting into an escape pod and stepping into the cryogenic sleep chamber as the space station blew apart. The last thing you remember is the flagship of the Stars Coalition, destroying your home. Swearing vengeance, you must now set out to destroy the Stars Coalition fleet, and bring the Coalition to its knees.You are about to arrive at the tiny space station of Zoapora, a tiny docking and refueling station of little interest. There you will be able to purchase a ship and begin your journey.
The Depths of Space is an FTL style forum game. Its basically going to be a lot of ship to ship combat, with interesting events and lots of decision making along the way. Anyone who's played FTL knows basically how this game is going to go. You're going to fight other ships, upgrade your ship, and try to get to and defeat the final boss without dying.

This asteroid mining ship has seen better days. For several centuries ships like this used lasers to mine useful materials from asteroids, but when the Orion Corporation started using massive ships that could take an entire asteroid on board for mining, these ships were phased out. They were never intended for combat purposes, and their laser won't do much against a shielded ship, but they have very strong shielding.

Deep Space Human: A human who grew up in deep space, causing their bodies to develop differently than on a planet. Planetary gravity is too strong to support your body and you are completely adapted to life in space.
Space Dwarf: A subspecies of humans who are much squatter than average people. They have larger lungs and livers than normal humans, but beyond that, they're exactly like Deep Space Humans.
Galaxian Android: An artificial intelligence which once operated on the space station Galaxia. They were designed to be able to fulfill any tasks a human could. Androids cannot function in a vacuum and require air to function. All Galaxian Androids are human in design.
