Deathmine, pit of treason was a reasonably successful fortress.
Now, there are more dead than alive.
Let me tell you the story.
Leading to the Great Fall:
The dwarves were being even greater idiots than before.
They had packed every barrel with food, and when they made more, they packed those too, and then started complaining about not having booze.
This fort was already in decline. Many halls were filled with undying werebeasts, cursed to be immortal for all but battle, locked in prisons of stone.
There were hundreds, and more than enough food to support them. I had made every workshop and produced two artifacts.
I snapped.
During the Great Fall:
I had the military, armed with well-crafted instruments of death attack the performers in the tavern.
They obliged.
They killed almost everybody in the tavern, until they were all wounded or dead.
I enlisted more.
The walls were soaked in blood, but we had not harvested enough.
On 8th timber, I released the werebeasts from their prisons.
Miasma was everywhere.
I attacked more tavern-goers, again and again.
The hospital was the most inhabited place in the fort.
I locked all of the citizens in a room, just so that the injured would not recover.
The aftermath of the Great Fall:
The Great Fall was the bloodiest event in Deathmines history.
Once the injured were at a point where they would never recover, I released the ones locked in the room.
Miasma is everywhere. The dwarves are only shocked at the rotting bodies of their loved ones.
I attacked more tavern-goers, still coming in a steady stream.
When injured, the dwarves cannot go to a water source, so many dwarves are found dead, dehydrated.
I get rid of the tavern designation so the constant stream will stop, and we can triumph.
A hunter is wandering around, killing every one of my dwarves he can find.
We are losing population rapidly. Most are injured, breathing corpses.
The livestock population has begun to tank, since there aren't any dwarves to feed them.
I will continue with more edits once more progresses, as the fort is not completely dead yet.
