I have a problem with magma smelters being unavailable despite having dug out to magma layer, I suspect thats mainly because i fiddled too much with dfhack reveal command and ended up missing the discovery message.
So my question is how do I enable them by editing saves?

I don't know if you need to edit the saves. In fact, I am pretty sure that the following DFhack command should work:

Haven't tested this though, so I could be wrong.

The feature hack will work. Also you need magma safe materials.
