Turning off ghosts/hauntings
« on: January 25, 2017, 01:28:14 pm »

Is this doable yet? Imo it's just a pain to have to build a bunch of coffins and designate them etc, building slabs when your dwarves 'go missing', having your furniture battered by poltergeists etc.

How do?

short answer: no, you cant turn off ghosts

but if you ask in the modding section you might get help there on modding them out of the game

Do you use the Lazy Newb Pack and DFHack? It offers the ability to auto define coffins for burials and forbid pets, and the planing mode from DF Hack makes designating furniture a breeze (compared to vanilla, you set the type of furniture and then only need to press enter, without having to reselect what you want to build).
If you have problems with ghost, you might want to be a bit more careful with your dwarfs, block paths to dangerous terrain like the caverns, and chop down every single tree, so they cant hide from keas up there!
