Ah, lootin' goblin soldiers, wait what?
« on: August 20, 2008, 10:05:21 pm »

So i just caged all but 2 goblins from a 31 gob strong siege ('mine'ed the remaining 2. No goblin has ever escaped Idorushat alive.) and am dumping their equipment and giant cave spider silk stuff. I notice that one cap has a decoration and view it to see if theres any images of their history.

It had an image of an artifact. MY artifact.

I went looking at all the other decorated goblin loot and found this too:

Thats of this artifact:

And that artifact was made JUST before the siege!!!

Their leader must have a palantir or something...

(I know this is because these gobs got generated to siege my fortress. It's still kinda creepy.  :P)

Upon completion of the artifact, the spirit left the dwarf, and in happiness, pronounce to the world of its completion.  All craftsdwarf/goblin/elf/human now, subconsciously, remember the artifact and inscribe its image.

Or the spirit decided that having an artifact created isn't enough, and proceed to possess other to make an image of it.

One of the toads decided to go for a swim in the moat - presumably because he could path through the moat to my dwarves. He is not charging in, just loitering in the moat.

The toad is having a nice relaxing swim.
The goblin mounted on his back, however, is drowning.

Something similar happened to me too once. I'll shorten this as much as possible.

1: Many years ago the goblins sieged
2: The siege is deafeated. Seconds later a bonecarver enters a mood and takes nothing but a few goblin bones.
3: Soon after we have Betantun, The Calm Doors(?) a goblin bone armor stand.
4: The next siege occurs. Goblins are again shredded to bits. On one gobbo's crossbow is an image of a goblin bone armor stand.

I imagined it as something like the goblin equivalent of "Remember the Alamo!"
Remember Betantun!
