Beginning a few weeks ago we started a succession world on reddit. So far it has gone very well, and we would love to have some more players join. We just began the fifth week long turn, and sign ups are open for more people to join. As of now it is filled up next week, but the week after still has two spots left.

The basic model we have been going by is having three people play each week so that there will always be at least one person who is able to submit a map by the end of the week. It also acts as a way to moderate organically so that players who do things that aren't in the spirit of the game won't have their map used for the next week.

We are trying to leave it as open as possible for people to create branches off or the main world at any time, however we only intend to moderate the main world ourselves.

We are using version 43.05. While Dwarf Therapist is not available for this version, we want this game to last as long as possible, so we want to use the latest version in hopes that it will be able to last longer that way.

Feel free to ask any questions here or on the subreddit, and if you have any suggestions, you can say them here, or there is a suggestions thread over on the subreddit, or you can use the issues on github for suggestions related to it if you prefer.

We are most focused on the subreddit, so you are more likely to see a quick response there.

Mm. You might be interested in the Imic's Succession world in here - also 43.05: Link. Currently it's up to year 46, starting in year 2 on a small island with poor mineral scarcity.

Not really good world when it comes to available embarks, tbh, but it might go somewhere interesting.

Regarding your rules, I'd fear people ditching the interest in it after one or two times when their map wasn't chosen or being unwilling to play without LNP.

Regarding the spirit of the game, not sure what this is - you didn't define it. That said, it'd could be pretty hard to figure out, when all but Bookancient* have 1 text post with maybe 1 picture at best. Feels this is more just playing the world and less narrating what happens (for comparison, my "Moonhome era pictures" folder has 1039 images archived, with 177 pages of images + text (with some about every image, at least) delivered over 13 updates between nov 13 and nov 25).

* Looking at which, it seems somebody borked the tileset in earlier turns - I guess somebody converted it to Phoebus or something without converting back when handing over the save for next week or something.

Still, I hope it gets to sets a new standard, for there's actually something to read there, instead of somebody taking a save and playing it for a week, then giving off a quip about it.
