Hey, I'm thinking of writing a greasemonkey script to replace usernames with their character names, only for the specific RP thread.

Basically we could "skin" a game that way, for the players only.

Work on a potential forum game for my return to Bay12. Figure out parts that puzzled me before. Find more things to figure out that I can't. Work on another game instead of solving them. Get distracted and stop working. Remember it a week or two later. Remember I'm still on hiatus. Illogically, Be too ashamed to return yet. Repeat ad nauseam.

Finally have a game completely ready. Wait a week before posting it out of laziness.

New Stuff!

Ocean Soul has made a suggestion to add resources to the game! And I've decided that will be OK.

Here is how it will work, I've filled in some points that were left vague, and added a few of my own.

I think it will also be neccessary to add a day/night cycle to make this work, I'll start there.

Once per cycle passed, you may gain a reaource related to your trade. It can be multiple of an item, such as a "barrel of fish" for example.

After 12 hours since the last time it was done a player may post:

NIGHT

[b]NIGHT[/b][hr]

- OR -

DAY

DAY[hr]

Depending on which was done last. At the top of your post.

While it is still possible to role-play other possessions these will have more "perceptible value".

You keep track of your own inventory. Perhaps in a spoiler, but you only have to add it when you add more resources.

As far as perishable items this will not be enforced but you are welcome to make your items perishable and track that and take care of it yourself.

You can also determine how often at what phases you are able to obtain an item. Or how much of it. Just be consistent. You can use all these added details when haggling with your items.

This is already the case. You determine the conditions and qualities of your resources. They can also be livestock. You can make any rules for your own resources as long as you're consistent. You can also leave them very simple.

A player, if they do not want the next time phase (night/day) to come, may put up a vote against it. The vote adds 12 hours to the wait between the current phase and next phase, and is removed at that player's discretion, when the next phase comes, or when a player votes for the next phase, in which case one of each vote (for/against next phase) is cancelled.
Changing the phase is optional. What players agree on is up to them.
