How many strands do you get from raw candy?

Also, how many wafers do you get per strand? 1?

Wiki doesn't say.

As opposed to normal ores, candy always yield 1 boulder per tile mined. One boulder yields one strand, which yields one wafer. 6 wafers corresponds to one bar for manufacturing purposes. Note that melting candy items return the appropriate number of WAFERS rather than bars, i.e. 1/6 of what you'd get from a normal metal item, so don't train your smiths on it...

1/3, not 1/6 typically, but it's more complicated than that (there are exceptions, in case of splints it uses less wafers than bars for instance):

Not sure what all of this "candy" talk is about, but the "coin trick" works on all non-brittle metals, including Adamantine (but not pig iron or bismuth).

It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

They use the name "candy" as it's considered a "spoiler" to call it anything else. It's a custom from early in this forum, and it's one of our many weird mannerisms. You'll get used to it.

Thisfox, Quietust has been a board member for seven years, and is trying to intimate that the euphemism 'candy' is kind of unnecessary.

Is he? Whups. Never checked. Sorry.

Personally I think the internal language we use is cute.
