Mannerisms
« on: November 12, 2016, 10:50:32 am »

I was running a handful of tests to see if I could have a dwarf zero mannerisms, just by manipulating personality facets. Only 2 of many turned out to have no odd tics. So are mannerisms randomly generated? This FotF reply seems to imply this.

Mannerisms are controlled by the [MANNERISM] tokens in the dwarf entry: I assume they are chosen by random from that list.
Try erasing those if you don't want dwarves to have those tics.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I've been trying to avoid removing those tokens. Mostly because I enjoy my fort dwarves having physical tics.

From an adventure mode perspective though, I was trying to produce character types who'd have consistent AI behavior. If you selected specific facet degrees along with value tiers, there'd be character appropriate behavior.

From what I can tell with the small sample size I've got, the 2 dwarves who had no mannerisms also had no souls as they didn't care about anything anymore.
