Is faux-history book narrative good or no?

It's confusing, please simplify/clarify it.

The Wynthian Tablets seem to be stacked in chronological order rather than sorted by the type of event recorded, as Tablet #336, for example, speaks not of administratiorial or political events but of pestilence that killed many Wynthians.

Noticing 'that other mountain over there' and the people on the plains and the total proximity to everyone else, the 'people deeper in the lands' sends contact of peace to the people on the plains being attacked! Also curiosity of the other-mountain-people-right-next-to-the-awesome-buildings-people on their thoughts about those people with awesome buildings (and horrible boxes with wheels)
