Advanced worldgen tweaking
« on: December 31, 2016, 06:03:23 pm »

Does anyone have any favorite "cookbooks" or general settings they like for the worlds they create?

So far, I have been somewhat intimidated by these options and haven't messed with them.

Largely for FPS reasons, I generally prefer small or even pocket worlds with small embarks.  (It may actually be DF that finally forces me to build a new computer.)

I generally run everything around medium except for mineral, which I bump up one, and that works fine.

I like to tweak vulcanism and drainage to get volcanos in deserts.  Building giant glass greenhouse monstrocities is never boring.

Minerals set to everywhere, of course.  Sites set to high, beasts set to low.

Ye know, being an usurper overseer gone mad with power isn't too bad. It's honestly not that different from being a normal overseer.

Look in the fortress mode forum for vjek's worldgen cookbook thread.  Guy is a wizard.

Thanks!  That's exactly what I was looking for.
