How do I get the book keeper?
« on: September 09, 2006, 09:41:00 am »

I've heard about how minting coins will get you the book keeper as an immigrant, but I've had no luck so far. I've minted 1,000 copper and 1,000 silver coins, and 500 gold coins. That was three dwarf years ago, and still no book keeper. What am I doing wrong?

News of your riches is spread by the caravan.  Did you lug them to the trade depot so the merchants could drool over them?

Also note that sometime recently, Toady switched it so that coins are now minted in batches of 500, rather than 100. This means that the number of coins needed for any given noble probably got multiplied x5.

This shouldn't have changed for the bookkeeper, he's allways counted only the number of coin stacks (five) regardless of coin value.
But to my knowledge you must not drag the coins to the trade depot for the dwarves to see them, as they don't seem to count the items marked for trading as belonging to your fortress.
What might be needed is a coin stockpile, but not sure about that.
