Viewing a site from the World Map?
« on: September 04, 2016, 10:31:13 am »

I actually did a search on this first.  Per title, I'm wondering if there is any way of viewing a potential Embark from the World Map?  I found what I believe to be a crazy waterfall (elevation goes from 8 to 0, both river tiles).  I would assume either Stone Sense or Armok Vision, but didn't see anything relevant in their respective threads.

The tile-by-tile map is generated when you embark or you go there as an adventurer; there is no way to see it before then.

Make a copy of your dwarf fortress folder. Open that version and embark on the spot. Have a look around, exit, and then delete the copied folder. Go back to your original folder and embark (or not) normally.

Can also do this with the worldgen/save folder without having to make an entirely new DF, but a whole new DF folder is the most straightforward way if you don't know the file structure.
