I found silver... one space into my fortress, well thats the distance it was from the outside wall of normal visibility. also, its part of a massive system of mixed veins of many ores... but I only have 2 dwarves left, the rest were mauled by ravenous elks.

Also, on this one-dwarf game attempt, i dug strait in and as soon as i crossed the chasm, hit loads of coal. Loads and loads. And the distance between the rock face and river was one screen. Between the river and the chasm, less then one screen. This could very well be the shortest map i've ever had...

Now lets just hope i dont get incinerated.

First though is steel, to cross the lava river.

Print screen button on the keyboard, then open up paint and press Ctrl V to paste. Save it as a .png to make it ultra-small in file size without color loss.

Or just export a .bmp from the options menu, and crop it to the area you want to post.

edit: oh, and you'd probably want to change it to something other than .bmp

Or, you know, gif, since the game only has about 16 colors.

Which of course isnt an argument, as PNG is perfectly fine 1,2,4 and 8 bit modes, too. And of course its smaller, too.
