Recently, I've been learning to code. I'm fairly certain Visual Basic isn't exactly the best option, but it's a starting point. I'll likely learn Java next. Or maybe something else, I dunno.

As part of the whole "learning to code" thing, I've decided to program a text adventure. Doesn't seem too complicated compared to my other desired project, which is programming a roguelike.

To help make programming the text adventure more of a challenge, I think I'd like to leave part of the design process up to Bay 12.

I'll be taking 7 Words of Inspiration and 5 Gameplay Mechanics.

If you wish to submit a Word of Inspiration, you can just do so, provided you have not already done so. If you wish to submit a Gameplay Mechanic, it must be supported by one other member of Bay 12 who has not previously submitted anything to this project.

Once I've got my starting point, I'll get to work.

Basically, I don't want one person to handle all the Words of Inspiration. Sorry if I didn't communicate that clearly enough.

So... do you want to choose which of those I'll use, or should I just choose at random?
