Site suggestion: FOTF knowledge base

Toady spends a fair amount of time replying in depth to questions on development every month, which is awesome.

But I feel that this on-going dialogue really needs to be more accessible. There are so many times we've seen questions posted just days after Toady's already answered them just because his reply has dropped off the first page.

Of course, I'm well aware that what Toady said 5 years ago, may not be how things are planned now so it'd have to be a well laid out page. It'd need to be obvious which section is current on-going dialogue and what parts should be archived to the 'when I was young and foolish' zone.

Yes, it's lots of effort for no apparent reward. But think of it as increased motivation for the Tarn brothers (besides the usual monetary kind). Instead of answering (or putting off) the same questions month after month, people would actually have more of an idea of where development is at right now and ask more timely, pertinent questions that make it seem almost as if the fanbase is actually interested.

Yes, I know there's a lot of people who continue to ask awesome questions every month. That's part of the reason why it'd be such a valuable resource. Some people still aren't aware that FOTF exists at all.

*Apologies if there's another area someplace for site suggestions...

If nothing else, a link to the page of links on the DFwiki would be a nice start. Had no idea that was there until I randomly tapped in 'Future of the Fortress' into the search. Guess many others won't stumble across it either.

I thought about this and even suggested it some time ago but it's a huge amount of information. A wiki really is the only way to keep it organized. And anyone can edit that right? So nothing's really stopping us.
