Exploring minotaur culture
« on: September 02, 2016, 09:10:41 am »

So, I just made a new world with a civ of minotaurs. Very basic modding, I don't do much to except make them playable, have them die of old age at around 25 and mess with their ethics a bit. They build cities and settle anywhere they like, so tend to be the dominant species in most worlds.

Having generated a nice new world, I picked out a typical specimen to get myself a picture of minotaur culture. Not a king, not a vampire or were-beast, just a normal guy to check out what regular minotaurs get up to in their spare time.

I was not disappointed.

Meet Ngathi Latheredevil the Massive Craze-Outrage of Moths.
In his short lifetime, he was farmer, poet and finally lord of his village. In between tilling the fields and writing a stunningly self-indulgent guidebook named "After the Hamlet", he got up to some typically minotaur-like shenanigans:

Incidentally at the age of 10, Ngathi married Rithreh Fiendequal a male engineer 6 years his senior.

Minotaur civilization - a wondrous realm of poetry, slaughter and equal opportunities.

Haven't seen that "burned alive" before, what are their ethics?

I'm sure I could figure it out on my own, but you should share the raws or list the changes you've made. This sounds fun!

Here you are. I tend to tweak them a lot. There are things I'm not too happy about, and I'm not sure if the red eyes timer bit actually works (hair does). Well, it doesn't crash anyway (make sure you delete minotaurs from creature_standard if you're going to actually use these).

Thing which most amused me about the killer poet above (besides his having a husband) was that he only ever ate humans, never goblins.

--Oh, almost forgot, you can't actually play as a minotaur from a minotaur civ with these raws. Only human, dwarf or elf civ minotaurs. But, while natural skills are broken for adventurers that seems reasonable took me.
