If the non goblin civs contain a lot of goblins getting goblin members of those civs as visitors isn't uncommon. In my fortresses, the ones that DO get visitors mostly get goblins on account of this. I've managed to get a breeding goblin pair twice (in at least one case one of them was a merc, and thus just a resident, but the other one was a performer and citizen). I haven't been able to get any human or elven children, though.

A long term resident you never have to feed or drink that survives on sleep and occasional outbursts of violence with crude, rude songs alone, but also a big palette of songs they've copied and stolecollected for your entertainment on account of maxed out natural memory stats and on average, poor self creativity.

Interestingly, while that's generally the case, I've found that a goblin performance troupe tends to be the real thing (real gobbo civ, straight from the dark pits) more often than not.
