As promised here is the interfaction diplomacy thread. Use this to taunt the other team, spread false information, demand unconditional surrender, etc. but please stay in character.

Here are the basic faction profiles for both teams, if you want to know the fluff and whatnot of your enemy.

New Mars Conglomerate

Nestled safely in the Valles Marineris canyon range, the capital city of Eden was the second city colonized on Mars and the most populous urban center that currently exists. Housing 80 million, albeit smaller than Axiom, the capital of Earth, Mars has a larger total population than Earth. Home to 600 million people, the New Mars Conglomerate is the cradle of freedom and liberty for those who wish to escape the tyranny of the United Human Empire. This toasty planet has been terraformed for human life, with average temperatures of 34 degrees Celsius in its temperate zones. Its atmosphere is a mixture of oxygen and carbon dioxide. The Conglomerate is really a Confederation of hundreds of smaller factions and colonies spread across the martian wastes, with the Federal capital in Eden.

SIC SEMPER IN LIBERO


In the downtown district of Eden lies the simple and utilitarian NMC Hall of Government. Inside the NMC Federal Congress convenes each month to discuss the future of their newborn confederacy. Composed of delegates from all the member states, the congress is a noisy chamber of yelling and dissonance. But the real decisions happen upstairs in the Central Council. A smaller assembly of 10 Provisional Ministers, elected from the Federal Congress. These men and women form the Executive branch of the NMC government.

United Human Empire

Earth - Sol. Population: 500 million. The birthplace of humanity. Until the start of the current century, mankind had been confined to this gaian prison. Everything in human history that had ever happened to humans has happened here-- until now. Mankind - split by a fierce civil war, now once again faces destruction as two warring factions battle for control of Sol. Terrorized by the unknown alien menace, both factions fight for their destiny. One in the name of tyranny, and one in the name of freedom.

Axiom -- The capital of the United Human Empire. Located on the eastern coast of North America, this megalopolis is home to over 200 million people, almost 50% of the population of Earth. Located here is the UHE High Council. Where most if not all of the decisions will be made that will decide the future of the UHE, and even more so, the future of humanity.

Located in the plains of Siberia is the Octagon. The military headquarters of the UHE. This massive underground structure is characterized by the octagonal shape of its surface building.

To the south in the Himalayan mountains is Fort Legion, the Point Defense Base of Earth. This smaller but still huge base is home to 50 missile silos, all ready to launch hypersonic missiles into space at over 10 km/s. Designed to defend against missile attacks on Earth, this base is now the only thing standing between Earth and nuclear annihilation from the NMC, not too far away on Mars.

For these reasons, we, The Representatives of The Martian People, require that only civilian vessels approach Mars itself. Any non-Martian traffic emitting military signals within twenty million kilometres of Mars itself will, regretfully, need to be detained or destroyed by Martian Forces."

"Such is a reasonable request. In the interest of ensuring the safety of our people, we would agree to such a zone if a mirror zone was to be respected by the Martian Congress in regards to Earth such that any non-Earth traffic emitting military signals would need to quite regretfully detained or destroyed by Earth forces, and that an amendment was made to the ship type, ensuring that neither side attempted to deploy troops through a 'civilian' vessel and that such vessels were recognized as troop transports which would fall underneath the need to be detained or destroyed."
