deactivate outpost liason dialogue
« on: July 14, 2016, 04:33:42 pm »

Is there a way to deactivate the outpost liason dialogue?

I was able to deactivate any pause in the game but not this one.

I hope its ok to bump this, as im still in need of a solution.

The autpost liaison is messing up my stream(once every 3 days, but still).
I need to get her gone, muted or a way to have the dialodue resolve automatically.

Hi!

AFAIK, what you're asking for is not possible.

Some potential solutions:
a) embark as a dying civ and get no outpost liason.
b) a macro to press a - esc every so often. Unfortunately, for your purpose you'd be best served by non-native macro I believe.
c) make it impossible to meet your outpost leader. Since outpost liasons are trapavoids but open doors while your dwarves are not trapavoid on citizen-triggered pressure plates, you could collect them and make them fight each other to death from overcrowding.

I'm not entirely sure if I recall this correctly but if the dwarf that the liason wants to meet is in the military and is active/training, the liason will follow them around waiting for a meeting but the active military dwarf won't take it.

Thats some good stuff there.

I also thought about a script(there are enough running on the 24/7 stream, one more wouldnt make a difference.)

If there was an option without it it would be great though.

Thx for your responses anyway. If anyone else has an idea i would appriciate it.

If you're able to use DFHack (i.e. 0.43.03 or earlier), you can set a debug flag (":lua df.global.debug_nopause = 1") which will prevent the game from ever pausing, including diplomat dialogs. It's also possible to set it without DFHack, but you need to know its memory address, and finding it is rather tricky unless you know exactly where to look.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.
