New Manager problem!
« on: June 28, 2016, 05:20:28 pm »

Hey,

So I haven't played around with the new manager too much yet. I used it successfully earlier in the fortress.

I reassigned my manager to military duty after noticed that he was good at swords and stuff. Now the new manager (who I made sure DOES have an office assigned) will not initiate any new jobs. He just stands around with no job.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

Wow, I've never had 44 views and no idea what's wrong.

If I do figure it out on my own, I'll post.

I had something like this happen to me once in .34.x I believe it was, but it was after I just promoted my manager to baron.  He'd stand around and do nothing instead of issuing work orders.  The strange thing about him is that something like a year or two later he snapped out of it and started working again.  I didn't do anything specific.

It could be entirely unrelated though.  How long has he been like this?  He could just be supremely lazy.

Yeah, I treid that. I even tried giving him a new office in a new location.

Well, I'll give him some time. See if he snaps out.

I had the same problem. Don't remember what I did to fix it. Maybe I had someone else do it?
