Sounds fun, but I find myself wanting a harder challenge.

I propose the Advanced Irondwarf Challenge.

Rules: You must play in a Sinister region. You must continue with the first region you start in the new version, and no reloading to a previous time. You MAY use population control (IMO the game is much less fun without it). No INI modifying except to bring dwarf limit to 150 (but not lower). Most importantly, you must post here about your untimely death (or victory... although that doesn't seem too likely). Who's up for this?

see, a lot of people are assuming that what we get will just be the current DF with another layer, remeber that Toady's changed a lot more than that, and some people (I think) are in for a nasty shock. - i expect to die out in the fist winter myself.

but hey, play with whatever rules you want, just post them when you start.

Are we doing this?  I'm about to start my first fortress.  I'm assuming that we're basing this on game time, not real time - how many months/seasons/years you survive?

that name generator is too fun, decided to only use the A's in this fortress name and group name:

I'm going for a somewhat easier location, to get my bearings.

I chose to start on a volcano with a small 3x3 map -- I figure I won't last long enough to expand too far.  Sorry, I didn't get a shot of the embark screen.

Eh, what's that?

Oh !@#$, this can't be good...

Yeah, this is gonna be over real quick.
