Just retired my second fortress to play a bit of adventurer. Unlike the first, this one didn't get many goblins despite there being loads about (every village is complaining about armies on the march).

Quick glance at Legends reveals that a couple of months after I retired my first fortress, it was attacked by 1050 goblins. Luckily it seems I taught the dorfs well and they won with 45 survivors who went on to fight several more sieges (explaining why fortress 2 was so quiet).

Been seeing awful lack of sieges even with rich forts. Post-adamantine, even. One fort now even died down to 2FPS, and was retired, after a stupid mistake involving me thinking it was safe to pasture some dog puppies, but somehow pathing killed the fort after I did so.

You should post that save on the bug tracker. Any save where you can narrow down a fort kiling fps bug to a single group of creatures is something toady might be able to use to find said bug. Pathing bugs are VERY hard to track down.

It does sound like the bug where animals decides to path through (animal) locked doors. This bug can be bypassed by unlocking the door (thus letting the critter though), or by killing the FPS killers. If you suspect the dogs, I'd unlock doors they're likely to try to pass through (and then lead them back). If that doesn't work I'd copy the save and then selectively kill off one animal at a time until the culprit has been dealt with. I'd then restore the save and deal with the culprit directly.

BLAZECOOKS has had 5 sieges in 8 years. Anywhere between 20-30 goblins.
