She'll problably like Spirited Away
Spirited Away is terrifying.
how dare you, Spirited Away is beautiful.
You're not wrong. That movie is still terrifying. More so when I was 12.

But not fully right either ;3 The most terrifying parts are with No Face and the transformation scenes (And there's blood. Dragon blood, but still blood. It may be  :-\ to someone at that age, however this varies per person.)
Personally, I saw this early in life and I was amazed by No Face (I was pretty...thoughtful, and loved ghosts and spirits/spirituality, and was pretty immersed in folklore, mythology, and learning the folk tales and ideas of many cultures), so this background of familiarity got me amazed and introspective at all that.

...Still terrifying, but I found that I saw most memorable scenes = the cute and fascinating ones. Like that blob that came with the talisman, or those tiny urchin fluffballs squiggling about. :P

I'd +1 on Courage, but I'm unsure as to...which episodes. ._. There are some creepy ones out there, and there are some that really gets you empathetic and all awh, on. But nice point there Yoink! :P

Also there are lots of classic cartoons often almost forgotten today

Tom and Jerry or Loony Toons are hilarious.

That one is VERY dependent on if the kid can handle the much darker theme of the show.
