Cabbage Seeds
« on: April 06, 2016, 01:34:56 pm »

At lunch I was browsing the news and came across a BBC article on the EU and Cabbage Seeds.  While reading the article, I wondered if/how I could apply what I was reading to DF.

I can't really share this stuff with people at work.  They wouldn't get it.

Fun fact: Cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, brussel sprouts, collard greens, savoy, kohlrabi and kai-lan are all the same species of plant.

Each is just a different breed of the same plant, bred for outsized growth of one particular thing.  Broccoli is made up of the pre-flowering buds, and is bred to have insane numbers of flowers with few, small leaves.  Cabbage, meanwhile, is the leafy sprout that forms around the flower spear, and is bred to have giant leaves and few flowers.

Hence, you might look at a cabbage and think there is no room for the seeds for cabbage plants, but that's just because they are often picked before it has flowered or grown any seeds.

Personally, I like [DF] because after climbing the damned learning cliff, I'm too elitist to consider not liking it.
