Unusual evil biome behavior
« on: April 17, 2016, 10:27:58 am »

I don't know if this things could be considered bugs, so im asking here first:

1. Evil rain doesn't fall on a roof

2. Evil cloud spawned on a roof
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

3. Reanimated corpses collapse repeatedly, spamming "falls down / stand up" reports
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

What do you guys think?

When you say 'doesn't fall on a roof', you mean it falls everywhere else?  Like in a perfect square around the roof?  Clouds can spawn anywhere, at any height.  Could be related to the rain, but not necessarily.  As for the collapsing zombies... that's hilarious :P  But most likely a bug.  Zombies don't have fatigue, so the only non-bug explanation I can think of is its' legs are just damaged enough to prevent movement, but not enough to stop it from trying to walk instead of crawl.

Yep, heres a comparison between both z-levels (3rd time it rains this year):

Also there's a weasel corpse that just arrived, it walks fine until it try to attack something, repeating the same behaviour; the other corpses won't have any injuries, they are just doing push ups in the middle of the desert.

Different z levels can have different biomes.  It might be that the floor level biome has rain, but upper levels do not but have clouds.

Different z levels can have different biomes.

I believe this is not true. Excluding the cavern biomes, all tiles at a particular x,y coordinate are of the same biome, independent of elevation. You can see this by embarking on areas where mountain biomes and other biomes meet. Sometimes you get a map that's half mountain, half temperate forest, with all one elevation. Part of the map will have trees and grass, but the rest will just be stone and pebbles.

The biggest issue seems to be size.  A 1x1 room would allow for maximum child desecration (waiting on someone to sig that)

It's a bug where higher z-levels have the wrong biome. 0008781 is one report of it.
