The Crypt (stories of needless death)
« on: April 02, 2016, 08:21:54 am »

Greetings! You can post here any spectacular and/or messy stories of you adventurers' demise. Here is an example from one of my adventures:

I was fighting a particularly determined bandit near a well. I managed to give him a mortal wound to the heart. and resolved to dodge about while I waited for him to bleed to death. Thanks to the great wisdom of the AI, I ended up dodging into the well. Some odd mechanics of the game resulted in him jumping in after me. So, I hit the bottom of the well, breaking a foot but otherwise unharmed. As I tried to climb out, I noticed a flurry of characters coming at me down the well. The bandit had died while falling down the well causing, slightly unexpectedly, all of his clothes to fall off. I was then pelted by falling shoes and skirts(?!), before being fatally crushed by his surprisingly heavy corpse.

Anyone with a death odder than that will get a reward. The reward of admiration.

A woman in full armour with a packback full of weapons and an iron sword ventured out into the wilds, where she was strangled and eaten by a sasquatch.

I am immune to trivial things like dragonfire and magma, right, so I was gm-editor army teleporting myself around investigating interesting looking volcano tubes and found one in a little pocket of ocean with a spot of high elevation near it on the elevation export so I tried to drop myself on top of said spot of high elevation.

Needless to say...

...I missed it.

So I swam up and launched myself out of the water so I could watch the tube cap, right?

...

Shortly after it finished capping, this happens:

I successfully killed several weaponmasters in the bandit camp and every other bandit I could see, when suddenly a bandit jumped out of nowhere, grabbed and threw me, and I landed in a nearby river.
it froze.

Both of the past things make sense. Your immunity to fire is because you are cold enough to survive it. So when you touched the water it froze immediately. Happened to me once.

Was ambushed by a pack of wild dingoes. How bad could it be?

I slew about half a dozen or so, then one got a grip on my left hand, and it was downhill from there.
