Name: Shou Yamazaki
Magical Boy Name: "Errant. Or K. Or whatever, call me whatever, so long as it makes sense and within, let's say, four syllables. If it don't make sense, there'll be miscommunication, and that, never ends well. If it's too long, then it takes too long to say, and it'll get shortened anyway."
Age: 17
Gender: M
Sex: M
Appearance:
Normal: Broad-shouldered and well-built with his chocolate hued hair styled reasonably messily. His dark sherry eyes are focused, though his posture is relaxed enough at most times. He prefers loose, comfortable clothing, and when in uniform, tends to skirt the uniform regulations as close as he can.
Magical: When transformed, Shou is dressed in what is best described as the bastard child of a yukata and a labcoat, colored crimson with splashes of black and a roiling white aura. In combat, the aura seems to anticipate danger and solidify in the form of ghostly plating, which, upon being hit, stains with dark magical runes. The bottom half flares open to reveal a slim pair of white shorts with matte black knee-guards that link into a set of greaves metallic books while armored grey gloves extend from beneath his sleeves. On the side of his head, he wears a pale, featureless mask, which at times inscribes itself with an inky magical circle. Also, he's a chibified doll without a mouth.
Description: "I shall chase my dreams to their conclusion, and if in such, I must part the seas, then I will do so. I say that not in arrogance, not because I believe I am strong, but because I know I am weak. If I trip, I stumble, if I stumble, I fall, and if I fall, I perish. If the seas do choose to betray me, if they do not part before more, or crash down while I walk, I drown, and again, I perish. But one day, one way or another, I will perish, and I'd rather greet the reaper, broken and battered, but smiling, knowing that I gave it my all, than cowering in the dirt, too afraid to try." Shou is the sort of person who always keeps his cool, or at least, attempts to. As such, the most violent outburst of emotion you'd see from him normally would be just plain exasperation, though you'll be seeing plenty of it. Well, that's the idea anyway, putting it into practice, that's a little harder, you don't exactly have all the time in the world to think out your actions, and in the heat of the moment, well, plenty can go wrong.
He views life as a story with interactions points where individual narratives intersect, and for that reason, will often prefer talking than to reading as while he can read whenever he wants, he has little control over when his own tale intersects those of others and often seeks to make as much of an impact as he can for he is unsure what course life will take. His desire to help others towards some kind of happy ending, is what fuels his dreams of becoming a doctor, and, also a regular source of internal conflict, one that pits his desire to help those he knows against the want to help a wider community as a whole.
“What will your wish be when you get it?”: "When? Ain't that a little closer to, if? Now I dunno 'bout what others'll wish for, but I don't see too many gods runnin' around here these days. I mean, were it that easy, you'd think we'd be seeing plenty of results by now, well, that or this is the result, and if it is, I don't like one bit of it.
The power of this contract, the power to protect those dear to me, and to help those whose paths I cross, that alone should suffice, don't really wanna go flyin' too close to the sun if you get what I'm sayin'.
But if, if, somehow, I had a wish, I'd blow it on something selfish, something worth it, but not too big, that'll probably just make a target, don't exactly wanna wake up to some psycho who got wind and thought I oughta have wished for world peace or something. I'd like something that lets me make a difference, but on my own terms, with my own hand, not by the power of the wish, 'cause I can tell ya right now, the road to Hell's paved in good intentions, and it don't look good at all; so I figure, if I'm goin' to Hell, and believe me, a few've told me just that, I'll go there because I wanted to, because I chose to sin, and not because I'm an idiot who made a right mess of his wish."
Background: "Fear not the Lord, for you know him to be forgiving; fear not the Devil, for you know him to mean malice; fear your fellow man, for within their vice is virtue, and within their heroism, hatred." Shou's background, as far as anyone can tell at least, is quite unremarkable - middle-class, an only child with both his parents working white collar jobs. If you were to look at his grades, and love of literature, you could be forgiven for thinking that he was quite the bookworm, which, while entirely correct, fails to mention him being a borderline delinquent, though with his final year in high school and university admissions looming, he's cleaned up his act a fair bit and, at the very least, isn't getting into much trouble nowadays. He has a few friends, or, to put it closer to his own words, enough that he has plenty of stories to hear, and few enough that he can keep track of them all.
Magical Power - Subjective Timestop: "Sometimes, the pages turn quickly, too quickly, if only I could stop to read them, then maybe, maybe my story might go a little differently." On activation, accelerates Shou's thoughts to the point where the subjective time between one instant and the next is infinite. From his point of view, it appears that time has stopped for everything save for his own thoughts (his body too will be "frozen in time"). This is an "on-or-off" sort of deal, there's no adjusting it so that time's still moving for him but he thinks faster or anything like that.
Magical Element - Anomaly: "Life's full of surprises, and so am I." Regions of twisted reality, with properties such as greatly increased gravity, electrical discharges, and sudden spontaneous combustion. There is always a short delay between them affecting their environment, and them affecting living beings or other life-like entities.
Magical Weapon - Polearm: "I'll carve proof of my existence into this world, one youma at a time." An oversized silvery scalpel with a disproportionately large blade that makes it resemble a polearm in both form and function. The blade traces an inky black path with each slash, and may be ejected and magically replaced in the event it gets lodged in something.

While out of combat, a magical girl or boy can use this to regain 1d6+2 Resolve
Guardian [Standard][Knight]
Free Action, 1 Overcharge (Defense)
If you are in the same position as an enemy and they attempt to move out of that position, you can make a Support vs. Support challenge. If you win, they are unable to move out of your position.
Reflector [Standard][Knight]
Free Action
Once per round, if you successfully attack a target, you play put a Reflector effect on yourself or an ally within a range of 0-2. The reflector lasts until the end of your next turn. While it is active, any time an enemy successfully attacks the bearer, they ignore up to 3 points of damage from the attack, and the attacker takes those points of damage.

You or one ally within a range of 0-2 heals 1d6+1 Resolve
Defensive Switch [Knight]
Free Action, 2/Scene

Evasion [Knight]
Free Action, 1/Scene
When you have just been hit by an attack but before damage is rolled, use this talent to add +6 to your defense Result. If it is enough to exceed the attacker’s result, they miss and cannot boost their roll any further.
