Apparently the chasm on it...
touches the surface world. A whole two pages of cavern monsters has spawned just ouside where it touches the surface.
I'll let you guys deal with them in your own fanciful way.
Here's a quick explanation of my situation:
quote:
<GreyMario> So, my fort apparently encompasses A: a temperate biome, and B: a snowy biome. Kinda funny to see my brook just freeze while it's flowing on its merry way.
<GauHelldragon> a ha
<GauHelldragon> yay marmots
<GreyMario> Also, there's a chasm somewhere on this map, but I'll be damned if I can find it again.
<GreyMario> Oh, there it is.
<GreyMario> It's a fingery chasm that pokes out into the above world.
<GreyMario> Oh.
<GreyMario> Shit.
<GreyMario> That's not good.
<GreyMario> Not good at all.
<GreyMario> There's a couple hundred iron men, cave swallowmen, and uh, batmen all OUTSIDE of the chasm
<Capntastic> *Cool.*
<GreyMario> Let's not forget the troglodyte herd either.
<GreyMario> And a cave swallow.
<GreyMario> Giant-sized.
<GreyMario> I think it's time to destroy my wagon and haul my dwarves' roast asses inside ASAFP.
<GreyMario> wonder what my unit list has to say about this death trap
<GreyMario> Cave swallowmen: 13
<GreyMario> Various rats: 3
<GreyMario> Batmen: 6
<GreyMario> Iron men: 1
<GreyMario> Giant cave swallows: 1
<GreyMario> Giant moles: 1
<GreyMario> Troglodytes: 9
<GreyMario> Giant eagles: 1
<GreyMario> Various assorted standard mountain and magma creatures: 14
<GreyMario> I'm screwed unless I can get my dwarves inside. :s
At any rate, lemme find somewhere to put the save and I'll let you guys make something of this low-level disaster.
