Dead-Poll coming in cinemas May the 20th

I'm not gonna lie, when designing the game I was thinking about smaller regions and I would be a bit scared of running a game of world war I, which would take a map of the whole world, for the first game I'm sure however that it would be fun though and it could work but we would need longer turns. Any other settings can be played on smaller maps so it will be much easier.

You could focus on something to the scale of a single front. The majority of the war happened across France after all.

Actually I might have found one very simple problem. Where to get maps without labels from? Screenshoting bing maps (for me bing as I live in China and am too lazy to turn on vpn so no google) works but the maps are then very bad quality. Any ideas?

Bing image search "blank _____ map" seems to find whatever I was looking for quite well. I'm assuming it's the same for you?

Great, simple problem simple solution. For bigger maps we will be using a map using this search that I will provide you with and because for battles, terrain will be important we will be using bing maps in aerial mode with labels off, so during play if anybody will want to check the terrain in a battle area just use bing maps with the settings I told you.
Cause we  have almost all players I will start writing the rules... I hope I have all the rules ready :o. If I don't know what to decide about a rule I will just ask you guys here. I also think we should make a better name for this forum game, "Game of War" sounds really lame.

Well, you might need to get the setting down first, that should help with coming up with a name.

Anyway, colour me interested.

Actually I meant a name for the game system not the game itself ;D. The name of the game will probably look something like "Game of War [system name] - Blalala [name of game]"

Edit:
Player list so I don't forget later.

Game of War is okay for now. We've had a plethora of threads running "Vanigo's game" in the past so at least you have a name :p

For the 1900's trench warfare you don't have to do an earth map. You could just do a small random map where the theme is WW1 and trench warfare.

For now I have written this, it might seem like little (especially because of the spoilers), but actually its a lot. I post it here so I don't lose it later.

I present to you the glorious Game of War.

Introduction

What's Game of War?
Game of War is an attempt to create a game that could simulate a conflict between two tribes, countries or even civilizations.
Was this attempt successful?
The game passed its first phase, it found interest, but will it pass the "it's playable and fun to play" stage it is yet to be known.

Are we gonna have two threads one for rule discussion and second for the game or just one?

We should do 2. Also the rules look pretty good.
