I still have no idea what the game actually is. None of the descriptions I've read seem to actually know what you do in the game.
There are 3 different "teams", each of which is a different race with a unique playstyle.
1. Are hamsters in space marine power armor. They are playing like a oldschool non-cover fps (though I think you could play in third person as well), with basebuilding, jetpacks you can modify with upgrades and I think vehicles in multiplayer. They are weak and squichy, but everything they have is ranged and their bases are powerfull (though you had to man the turrets yourself),they also have the largest team.
You basically play them by luring stuff into mined chokepoints and then paste the whole valley with mortars and missiles until everything that isn't you stops moving. Or zerg-rush stuff with explosives.
And you need to rescue the native race of NPCs called Smarties to staff your buildings and produce weapons/upgrades/vehicles, so you run around a lot and get ambushed by naked chicks with knives.
2. Are female fish-people that play like the game is a third person action RPG like for example the 3d Zeldas. You have swords, bows with various kinds of arrows and spells. They are also he only class that can swim. Basebuilding is limited to weak automatic turrets and disposeable buildings that are basically NPC shops.
Fighting against marines you are basically The Predator, ambushing them and murderizing everyone in melee or swimming through rivers and headshotting lone marines with bows like you're a shark with a sniper rifle.
Lead the Kabuto into lakes where you have a huge mobility advantage or run away and nuke him with spells from very, very, very far away.
Never let anying catch you on dry land.
There is usually 3 or 4 of them in a team, but you can do pretty well alone, too.
3. Is The Kabuto, and there is only ever one. You're basically playing Evolve, only that you start out as a level 3 monster and get only bigger as the round goes on. Walk around, eat everyone, smash their puny little houses, just don't follow the hamsters into suspicious valleys with weird long tubes on top (that are for some reason all pointing at you) or follow the fish chicks into a lake and you're golden.
(For non-Evolve players, a monster reaching level 3 means "GG, game is over, monster has won" more often then not.)
It is also one of the most hilarious games I've ever played multiplayer, and the campaign for the marine and fish things is incredibly funny (the marines more so then the fish).
