Well, the title says it all, but if you care for the long story, here it is:
I've built a tavern and would like to supply my bards there with appropriate instruments for the art forms they know of. I've seen that in the musical form's descriptions Toady posted some time ago instruments are associated with art forms. Now the question is, how can I find the full description of the musical forms generated in my world, if possible in fortress mode?

If you are (v)iewing a dwarf, and press (g), you can see which job it currently has, above the dwarf's listed skills. If you press (Enter), you will get a description of the current job, if applicable.
When a dwarf is reciting poetry, playing music, singing, dancing, telling a story, you can see the description of those that way.

EDIT: btw it's really cool to see that art forms can mingle. There's musical pieces that use poetry. You'll see a joint performance of dwarves playing instruments and reciting poetry sometimes, and in the description you'll see they belong together in a single performance. Just like music and dance / song.
