Author Topic: Problem with water reservoir that has multiple inputs and outputs  (Read 568 times)

So I have a 10x10x2 water reservoir.  On the lower level I have 3 horizontal pathways, one is input(A) and two are outputs(B)(C).  On the upper level of the reservoir I have a pressurized input(D).

(A) is a hallway to a screwpump atop a stack bringing water from a cavern.
(B) is a hallway leading to a downward stairs, upward stairs(-1z), diagonal pressure gauge to downward stairs (-1z), up/down stairs(-2z), then horizontal to the bottom of a 2z deep well reservoir.
(C) is a hallway leading to the top of my 4z tall mist generator.  At the bottom of the mist generator I have screwpumps returning the water to (D)
(D) is a screwpump, hallway, and pressurized input back into the 10x10x2 reservoir, at +1z

Im on a dry mountain and my first water source was 80 levels below.  The idea of this contraption was to create a system that conserves water usage by recirculating water from the mist generator back to the reservoir.  The screwpump ideally would only replenish the reservoir when the base level is less than 7.

I probably dont need to have a pressure gauge on (D) and I suspect it is the cause of my problem.  Which gets me to:

Problem:  My well which (B) leads to only fills to the bottom level and not the second, making the well on the third level above it serve up water laced with mud.

I should probably try to draw it out...

And this is leading to the base of the well reservoir, and does not raise higher.
I could probably draw more but it stays at Z-3 and does not return up to Z-2.

I can probably take screenshots too.  But basically the water travelling down to the well reservoir passes a pressure gauge but doesnt respect it.

This is probably an unintelligible mess.  But any input would be appreciated, Thanks.

*edit* I took off the pressure gauge at D and after a few months ingame it started filling the well again.  *shrug*
