I actually wrote that the nether-cap screw pump could be used to pump magma... I stand corrected on the issue of graphite, though, as I actually (erroneously) read that as "construction" rather than "building". However, I didn't know you could make gears out of nether-cap (shafts can be, though, and I actually knew they are magma safe, but had forgotten that until this reminded me). If obsidian encased shafts still work, that can be used as a safe, and relatively simple, means to secure a power access tunnel/chute from invader access. Much easier than using a screw pump and empty space. If you encase a magma safe gear you don't even have to bother about what kind of wood you use for the shafts.
