Migrant wave for this season just arrived...and they're all lingering around the edge of the map.



There's no issue with pathing whatsoever. Most of them have already lost their "New Arrival" status and have started doing jobs around the fort, like that Mistem guy up there, but when they're idle, they inexplicably come back to the very same spot where they first appeared on the map.

The only notable change since the last migrant wave is that I set up a tavern, which has even been attracting random human guests. Are these dwarves teetotal :o or something?

This is my first fort in around 3 years, so I'm really not familiar with 0.42, or even 0.40 for that matter. Please forgive me if this is a common/known issue.

I don't have any non-tavern meeting zones and I have never encountered this issue. Regardless, make a few backups of your save in case this is a reproducible bug and then designate a new meeting zone and see what happens.

Fixed it. I made a burrow encompassing the entire tavern area and added all of them to it. They slowly made their way down and have started socialising.

I just deleted the burrow, and so far it looks like they're too busy getting drunk to leave the burrow. Will update if they do end up going back to the border.

Did you define your tavern from the zones menu, or from a table?

This behavior is consistent with not having a meeting zone defined, and IIRC there were some bugs with using a table to designate a tavern.
