Giving the Elves more variety.

As it stands and is, the Elfs have a very diverse culture tied entirely to their lands. The sad thing is that they are always and exclusively tied to forests and the forest entity.
So this brings forth my idea:

Bring in more entities, for every type of region a different one. Each entity should have a different personality, and this personality would shape the values of the elves overtime. Say that an entity of the savannah is more leaned towards eating meat. The entity occassionally would begin discussions with individual elves, and shape their personality slowly to its whim.
This would cause a great variety. Especially if you also gave the entities personalities that would differ, just as in civ races. If you tied certain technologies to certain region entities (say pickaxe for mountains) you could also have different site types.

I like this idea but I imagine it'd be moddable.

Oh, I thought you were going to talk about hacky-slashy-stabby variety. Elves are usually depicted in fantasy as uber-awesome warriors and craftsmen (craftselves?). Hippy kids with pointy ears and toy wooden weapons and armor are not exactly elf-like to me.

Well if you had mountain elves and forest elves to trade with one another, you'd get metalized elves quite quickly
