Hi all, I'm very committed to playing 6.2 version of Masterwork, and it is my fave version of DF by a long way.

Started a new fortress recently and am about 7 or 8 years in, everything up and running very nicely and quite far down several tech chains, etc.

However, one problem:

I can't seem to extract essense from plants. Namely:

1. Kobold Bulbs
2. Morning Glories
3. Wild Daffodils
4. Field Tulips

I have literally 100s of these sitting in barrels.

Dwarf always cuts the order short because it "needs a glass flask". But I DO have a glass vial, several of them.

Since getting this, it also won't let me make any more glass vials. "Needs rough glass-bearing gem materials", even though I have the raw glass sitting there.

Is this a known bug?

Is there any work around for this?

Any and all help MUCH appreciated.

I think I discovered was this was. My military dwarves had been TAKING the glass vials. I thought I couldn't find them in stocks!

But the question is: how do I stop them taking the glass vials?

Dwarves consider flasks, waterskins, and vials to be roughly the same thing, just made of different materials.  You'll need to either tell the military not to carry flasks (in m-u), or make a bunch of flasks or waterskins so the vials don't get taken.

Ok, now another problem. All the flasks have water in them. How do I empty them?

If I remember correctly u can build a loo (workshop menu) and empty fluid containers there
