fantasy world building thred
« on: June 20, 2016, 02:41:36 pm »

so i decided to make a world building thing
here you poast ideas for this setting
here are some things i have allredy made:
moast `normal` races are extinct
here are some starting races to branch off int`o descendants
-humans
-humanesques(human like creatures, not elves ore dwarfs or gnomes)
-dorfs and gnomes
-goblins,orcs,hobgoblins.
-trolls and ogres
-animal people(not extinct)
-merdudes
-exotics(not exinct, they are anything else than the races above)
this happens in a post apocalyptic early modern world
you need to create the even that made the extinct races, well, extinct

Notes from my current Pathfinder game setting, 'Bretharis'

Five centuries ago, a band of adventurers united the land in defence of civilisation against the forces of evil and corruption.
Their human leader was hailed as high king and his lineage became the balancing force between each of the nations of the continent.
Three decades ago the final high king died without a clear heir, spawning a war between nations over who would ascend the throne.
From the ashes of war three powers emerged, one monarchy, one theocracy, and one arcane oligarchy, which consumed their rivals.
A fourth underground faction composed of common folk under the influence of a charismatic leader currently seeks to bring forth democracy instead.
Thirty years of warfare has seen civilisation crumble in many areas as the fields of fallen feed hordes of monsters.
Many of those who have lost their homes, families and entire way of life have become easy fodder for cults promising revenge on their oppressors.
Slavery is widespread and highly profitable within the theocracy, though slaves are offered release from servitude after five years if they convert.
Necromancy is common within the arcane oligarchy, with undead serving as endless power sources inside the gears of massive constructions.
Several rifts exist within the world to hellish planes, where bastions of the forces of good wage endless war to hold off the tide of evil.

hey guys, you know this is a widely barren place, there are not many nations, all major races are dead, exept for their descendants
here are things we need
-history
-tech
-races(the descendants,animal people aand exotics)
-any remaining nation(tribes included)
-a more fantasy event that destroied the races
-artifacts and ruins
-fauna and flora
-heroes
-langueges
-religions(there are no true gods)
this is also early modern tech

Technically still around.  Humans could get themselves extinct, so it is fine.  Hoorah Humanity!

This sounds like you're trying to get us to do your work for you. I mean, certainly we could all build a world together, but it'd have to be a shared world, like, under a creative commons license, so everyone could use it, not just... Well, nobody, due to how copyright works.

Working with people who lack the will to achieve good formatting or readability is usually not worth it, in my experience.
