well i install adventure craft but much to my dismay it seems the option to play as a human outsider is no longer present, how would i go about fixing this?

The modding forum is where you want to be asking this.
I'm no expert but, check raw\objects\creature_standard.txt and make sure humans have [OUTSIDER_CONTROLLABLE]. Throw it in near the top someplace if they don't.

Derp. Sorry for not discovering this thread sooner. Basically, I'm assuming that you genned a world lacking any playable civilizations?

Basically, with the .42.XX updates I discovered that you need to add some...interesting additions before outsiders can be played, if no playable civ exists. This was largely due to the outsider feature becoming dependant on a creature token, no longer an entity token.

What exactly are those interesting additions? There's a thread halfway down the adventure mode forum about being unable to play as elephentmen outsiders despite adding the token to them.

Hmm. I've yet to test how it works with other races that aren't default entity inhabitants, but I did two things.

First, added the relevant outsider token to all five of the main races.

Second, added the "all main pops controllable" token to the underground animal peoples entity. This is what solves the "no adventure mode if no civs exist" issue, because even if the surface is uninhabitable, underground entities will still exist.

I'll have to commit some !!SCIENCE!! to see how it works with elephant men and other such things. If they don't work as outsiders, it might mean that the outsider creature tag only works on creatures that are associated with an entity. Either as a default race, OR it might only work if members of that species have joined a civ in worldgen.

Did the person that tried that check whether that particular species was available as playable by normal means? If it was playable, then it must be the former cause. If not, then it could be either.
