So, not only does he have an infinite fireball gun, which he happened to have the required parts for, he's also shown that he can completely replicate someone's power after a few minutes of tinkering and later remove the limitation of it being single use from it? Am I getting all that?

No.  He's replicated one potential effect out of many, many possible effects, and that not very well.  It would take larger amounts of time for any significantly USEFUL stuff to come out of that.  Other than lots of swords.
Also, he's in VR, I'm making the not-unreasonable assumption that resource caps are probably higher/less restricted in here because you're not doing anything in real life and VR is supposed to be for testing things.

Aliens encountered so far

Pleiadians: Superficially similar to humans. They have a long history, originating from the war-torn planet of Lyra in a distant galaxy. They formed their civilization in Erra, a planet in the Taygeta system within the Pleiades cluster. They are very technologically advanced and use magical leylines as their main method of FTL travel. A Pleiadian's body is less stable than a human's due to having greater link to the magical realm. A Pleaidian can exist indefinitely through force of will, but otherwise they are fragile. Their life expectancy about two times of a human's. (i. e. Purity Sue)

Reptiles: Another alien species in alliance with the Pleiades Empire. Their species can be seen in the administration of the Empire and Earth. They do not have a collective governing power, but their species often find each other in conflict by supporting different powers. They are possibly the progenitor of all existing lifeforms excluding the Greys. Their appearance vary depending on the group they are found in. They are nearly ageless. (i. e. Ingrid Cold)
