This scenario and such works pretty well, and a d20 RtD would be reasonably unusual.

Probably something alomg the lines of "You and a small group of peopl are on a hostile planet, and the local wildlife is perfectly adapted to it's surroundings. The only way off the planet is on the other side; the building you are in contains asvanced weapons, but all you know about them is how to pull the trigger. Once you leave the building, it will seal itself to the outside world, as a safety precaution." And then see where people want to go from there.

Perhaps there is a known evacuation craft arriving at a specified location at a specified time, so the players need to be there in that window to not get stuck.
