Anyone found a use yet for inedible seeds (fruit tree seeds)?

So I've sent in a bug report on it: http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=9346

Am I missing something? Has anyone found any use for the peach pits, pear seeds and other inedible seeds that drop from brewing tree fruits, except selling them to caravans?

Can you cook them?  You can cook macadamia nuts and they have no other use.

No, they don't appear in the kitchen ingredient's seed list.
It's specifically the seeds you get when brewing fruits that were harvested from trees (using a harvesting zone and a stepladder). Which excludes nuts, for those are harvested from trees, not obtained after brewing fruits.

Looks like they're useless then, unless they can be fed to an animal in training or put in a manually placed animal trap.

Many useless seeds are truly useless for the time being. So useless that sending them to the trade depot for trade results in empty bags arriving (based on 0.40.24 behavior).

Nope, I can trade them to the caravans just fine, those seeds in bags.

Load them into a minecart, fire them at besieging forces. Or drop them from a great height.

Not sure, but you should be able to dump the seeds out of the bags by dumping the seeds (preferably, iirc, into a garbage zone with a drop to a seed stockpile which has a minecart taking seeds from it, and no access to any bags). You may need to forbid the seeds once they are in the minecart as well to stop them from being collected into bags.
Note: I've not done that sort of thing in a while, might be miss remembering.
