DF main page world

Is it known what world is the one which world map is used as a background on the DF main page? Does it have some special settings (like a large world with seed "dwarf") or is it "just" some random one? Was there ever some try to decode from shown image what settings it may have used, if those are not known?

It is quite likely, based on the distribution and appearances of sites, that the world depicted in that image is from version 0.28.181.40d (or perhaps early 0.31.xx).
