How to select from multiple races for fortress mode

I am using this this mod http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=140725.0 and it has more than one playable race. how do I get to pick what I play as in fort mode? because I started a fort but ended up as the Talyxians without any sort of prompt to pick or anything. how do I play as the other races instead?

Press tab on the embark screen until you get to the civilization list and scroll through that then press tab more to get to the list of what civilizations have access to the site and the first one on that list is the one you're playing as.

ah thanks I should have guessed it was hidden somewhere in the ui. Can you tell it's been years since i played this game? :P
